I’m just a happy soul right now. I can’t even express how badly I have been craving this moment. Sitting in one of my favorite coffeeshops, sunlight pouring in, almond milk mocha in hand, Elvis playing, writing for my blog. I am a happy, happy gal.So here’s what I know by my 19th trip around the sun.
Waking up for a sunrise is always worth it.
There’s so many favorites to look forward to. Favorite songs, favorite nights, favorite people. Keep seeking it because you haven’t experienced them all yet.
It’s never dumb to tell someone exactly what they mean to you.
Go where you are celebrated, not where you’re tolerated.
Being vulnerable makes you a badass — strong and bold enough to be honest. That’s pretty badass.
Taking the long way home is worth the extra minutes.
Small talk is a shallow waste of time. Words mean things and should count for something. It’s a better use of time to talk about the things that are real and that matter.
The color yellow equates to happiness.
Joy is not happiness in your circumstances, but contentment in knowing Who is active within your circumstances.
- You need to learn to be on your own. From driving long distances alone to sitting in a coffee shop alone to recognizing your deepest thoughts. Life often gives us seasons of being on your own, so it’s important to be comfortable by yourself.
Joy is more important than sleep. Cookout at 1 am with friends or a 2 hour long quiet time just so you can pray your heart out. Choose the joy over the sleep.
You’re not as annoying as you think you are. So, text that old friend how much you love and miss them. Tell the girl standing in line that you love her shoes. Ask him what song he played when you were together. Say the things you want to say.
Love is shown in actions, not in words. If his actions hint that he doesn’t love you, believe them.
Life’s not a competition. You should never feel like you have to compete for attention, affection, or affirmation.
God always, always, always is leading us to love. So stop fearing where He is going, because I can guarantee that His path brings more love than the path you wanted to choose.
Sunrises, sunsets, stars, seas, and skies are 100% free. If you’re not taking every opportunity to see them, I question what you value.
Overthinking things will be the death of you. Take thing at face value and let others prove their intentions.
