Something has shifted this month. Not just in the air (though, yes — it’s been hot hot hot here in Virginia), but in me, too. June has felt like a gentle exhale and a powerful reset all at once. After years of designing for wedding creatives (a journey I’ve loved deeply), I’m stepping into a new season of Studio Gail — one that’s slower in pace, fuller in presence, and still deeply rooted in service.
There’s been so much gratitude threaded into this month. My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary this month — one year married!! While it still feels so surreal, I also feel so sweetly settled into our new life. We kept it simple and sweet with reservations on the beach, walking our beloved venue with cocktails in hand, and chatting into the night about how sweet this first year was. June also held another milestone as I hosted the sweetest shower for my sister’s first baby.
With all that grounding and gratitude, here’s a peek at what else has been blooming this month — in the work, in the design, and in the quiet in-between.
June brought a few beautiful projects across the finish line, and as I near the end of custom client work, I’m fully leaning into the rhythm of the template shop.
Coming SO SO soon:
→ A HoneyBook template for doulas — nurturing, inviting, and grounded
→ A HoneyBook template for coaches — playful, confident, and chic
→ Adeline website template — dreamy and romantic, designed especially for wedding photographers and videographers who want their site to feel like a visual storybook.
Each one created to support soul-led service providers who want their backend to feel as thoughtful as their offerings.
Though my custom client work is wrapping up, the designer in me is still very much alive (and always on the lookout for beautiful things). I’m constantly gathering bits of inspiration for future template designs — fonts I’m loving, color stories I can’t stop thinking about, and details that make something feel just right.
This month’s palette is inspired by a visual I spotted from @creativeworks.dk and it’s giving coastal café meets lakeside escape:
These tones feel like a breath of early summer — calming, refined, and just a little bit indulgent. Exactly the kind of mood I want to bring into upcoming designs.
As always, I’m thinking about ritual, rhythm, balance, and alignment. I’m always asking myself how I’d like to move through life and work with more care, more alignment, more ease. Lately, I’ve been asking myself: what would make this the best summer yet? Of course, I’ve made a Pinterest board as I envision the dreamy big picture. And as my project schedule slows, and my time opens, where do I want to be allocating my attention? In my life and in my studio. How do I want to spend my time? What does a summer of rest look like? A summer of joy?
If you’re asking the same questions, you’re not alone. Maybe this is the season to redefine success. To choose slower mornings, softer schedules, and stronger boundaries. Maybe “the best summer yet” isn’t about doing more but doing it differently.
Wherever this month finds you — deep in client work, dreaming up what’s next, or simply savoring a little more daylight — I hope you find what you’re needing. Permission to pause. A moment of clarity. Or just the reminder that you’re allowed to make it your own.
See you next month,
Abbey
Summer is just about upon us. To many, Memorial Day weekend is the official start. For others, Summer Solstice (which won’t be until late June) is the true beginning. Either way, I’m sure you can feel the energy shifting. The light is lingering a little longer in the evenings, my plans are stacking up like little to-dos in my mind, and I’m reminded of one of my favorite quotes … “spontaneity is the reward for good planning”. That’s what I’ve been carrying around with me lately: doing the unglamorous prep work now, so there’s space to play later.
May has been a good month of clearing out and tuning in. I’ve been waking up before the sun (or at least trying), tending to my routines, and slowly building better rhythms for the season ahead.
As someone who loves being in tune with the seasons, the flow of the year, the energies of the directions, and so on, I’ve been so inspired by a sweet friend of mine who plans her week around planetary days – Moon days on Monday, Venus days on Friday, and so on. And while I haven’t fully committed to it myself, I love the idea of being intentional with ourselves, our actions, our energies, and how the world around us holds us in certain energies. Even the simple but profound practice of an opening and closing ritual. Lighting a candle, turning on a playlist, tucking notebooks back onto the shelf. Creating a little ceremony around the work, if you will.
If you’re craving a late spring, early summer reset like me, I made you a checklist: a spring cleaning for your business, but also a little permission slip to pause, refresh, and clear out what’s feeling stale.
I know sometimes these tasks can feel a little tedious, but there’s a magic to them. A little spring polish to set the tone for what’s next. Here’s what’s been on my list:
✓ Archive old Instagram posts that don’t feel aligned with who you are currently and where you’re going.
✓ Unfollow accounts that drain or feel too tempting to compare yourself with, rather than inspire.
✓ Give your website a little looksy (make sure your pricing, portfolio, and inquiry pages are all up to date). Especially if you’re entering your busy season, make sure you have the essential systems set up to support you. (Resources on this to come! Waitlist here.)
✓ While you’re at it, why not give your socials a little polish? Update your profile picture, your bio, your highlights, your pinned posts…
✓ Follow up on those ghosted Honeybook leads, and archive any projects you don’t need to track anymore
✓ Reach out to some past clients for a little testimonial request
These tasks might not look like much from the outside, but they create room for ease, flow, and those sweet summer Fridays that are just around the corner. Trust me, you will be thanking yourself when you’re knee deep in busy season, getting inquiries left and right, trying to stay relevant on socials, AND trying to live your best summer life.
Those who know me know I am an avid journal lover. I’ve had years of being deep in the practice, years of taking a break, and am currently finding myself in the ‘getting back into it’ phase. Each month and each season, I love to take a moment to reflect on what is going on in my inner world. Here’s a few things I’m pondering this month:
A few lines in your journal, a quiet morning with your coffee, or even a note in your phone — wherever you land, I hope they guide you toward more clarity and more ease.
As always, I’ve been dreaming up new ways to support your business in a simpler, more spacious way. We recently launched the Monroe Collection, she’s lovely, so thorough, and truly has everything a wedding planner would need to have the most seamless client process.
We also have 2 new collections coming in June (this one for the doulas & coaches, but of course always easily customized for whatever your biz does). I am always working on more ways to help you elevate your brand from the inside out — so if that sounds like something you need, make sure to get on the waitlist for all my Honeybook resources.
Still closing out on some projects before kissing custom work goodbye for some time. These dreamy ones below are so sweet and so good.
Plus, a shift into some non-wedding creatives as a change – a somatic healer & therapist, a coffee shop, and a farm stand! A little variety and a little fresh perspective is always good for the creative spirit.
May this month bring the awakening energy of the early summer, long walks after dinner, and some thoughtful attention to what little steps you can do now to enjoy the freedom later on. Until next month.
xo, Abbey
I’m trying a fresh approach to these studio updates — keeping them rooted in the heart of Studio Gail.
Lately, I’ve been sitting with the tension between showing up as Abbey in my business and letting Studio Gail stand on its own. Do they live together? Do they need separate spaces? Is there room for both the dreamy creative and the fully human person — one pulled in a dozen directions, still trying to hold it all with care?
I’m learning that there might not be a one-size-fits-all answer. But maybe that’s okay. Maybe the answer shifts with the season.
And in this season, these studio updates will lean more into the creative work itself — client projects, visual inspiration, and what’s catching my eye lately. If you’re craving the Abbey stuff — personal musings, rituals, little-life reflections — you’ll now find me over on Substack (she’s gonna be a vibe). Come say hi!
But for now, let’s settle in. Here’s a look at what’s been unfolding this month — in the studio, in the work, and in the quiet in-between.
Some recent client work that’s been living in my head in the most lovely way:
Each one has felt like such a special collaboration. So much heart and subtle storytelling. There is so much joy in bringing their visions to life. I am so honored to have these amazing women as my last design projects for awhile.
While I am stepping into the spring by wrapping up the above projects, I will be taking a break from my design work. However, I will never not be collecting design inspiration. Lately, I’ve been loving typography that feels… timeless (starting to cringe at this overused word, but I digress). Less modern, more classic. The kind of serif you’d find on the spine of a well-loved book. Poetic, softened at the edges, both mature and whimsical at the same time. There’s a subtle confidence to fonts with a literary feel — established, elegant, and a little anti-hype (which, let’s be honest, is very on-brand for me).
No surprises here — soft neutrals and coastal blues still have me in their grip. Additionally, I’m loving the 2025 spring craze that is butter yellow. Sunny, subtle, and okay, yes, it’s trending — but we love a trend when it feels like us. April feels like hazy skies and sea glass. A wash of blue-grey mornings and quiet golden afternoons.
@thisoakhouse — Annie Meyers-Shyer (yes, Nancy Meyers’ daughter) — is giving major Nancy energy. Interiors, slow living, soft and comforting. Her feed is a daily love letter to a soft life, and I’m fully here for it.
In web and brand design, I’m drawn to delicate details right now — ornamental touches, gentle movement, those bookish flourishes. They lend a sense of depth, grace, and grown-up femininity. I’ve been seeing them more and more in the wild, and it makes my heart skip.
A few things quietly blooming behind the scenes:
Yes, there’s another big shift happening here at Studio Gail.
I’m stepping back from custom client work — at least for now. Making space for rest, and for something new to take shape. My waitlist is still open (and growing, which means the world), but I’ve been feeling the nudge to slow down for about a year. To serve with more presence, more alignment, and more ease.
So while I won’t be taking on full-service projects, there are other ways you can elevate with me. Through my thoughtfully-crafted templates and a curated shop designed to give you that Studio Gail touch, but a little faster and more accessible.
This shift has been very needed and long awaited. I am so excited that I’ve given myself permission to say what I want out loud (need help with that too? I’ve got you.)
Oh — and just in case, have you met Palmer yet? She’s a beauty, and the first look at where we’re headed next.
Until next time, have the most restful April.

After January stretched on for what felt like three years, February felt like three minutes. But even in its quickness, a theme kept emerging for me—the idea of process, presence, lightness. And underneath it all: How can I make life a little more lovely?
Listening to: Angel by Elvis Presley
This word is about sinking into the moment, making space for ease. A candlelit dinner just because. A playlist that turns a busy workday into something sweet. Fresh flowers on the table, even when the week feels chaotic and the forecast calls for snow.
February was a lesson in choosing loveliness. Not waiting for it to appear, but creating it in small ways, over and over again.
Now we’re shifting into Pisces energy, dreamy and intuitive, and soon—Aries season. The astrological new year. My new year. Spring is near.
Spring is flirting with me! A few warm days here and there, tiny blue flowers peeking up in my yard, birds singing in the morning. And then, just to keep things interesting—the biggest snowstorm of the season.
Last week, Virginia Beach got a foot of snow. This week, it’s sunny and 65. East coast spring, am I right?
Fresh pajama sets, because we still have a few more weeks of winter and I’m still embracing cozy season.
Calling spring in while still honoring winter (a life lesson, no?). What that looks like:
Chocolate-covered strawberry mocha.
February brought back memories of Valentine’s days past, including the best drink I’ve ever had at one of my favorite coffee shops, so I decided to recreate it myself.
A little mocha sauce (I ran through my bottle of Torani way too fast, so I made my own), a homemade strawberry syrup from fresh strawbs, frothed milk, and magic. Litereally Valentine’s Day in a cup.
Ina Garten’s memoir and Kelly Bishop’s memoir—feeling so inspired by these highly accomplished, radiant women. If you are someone afraid of getting older, please do yourself a favor and branch out from your feed of 20-year-olds.
Just started Stanley Tucci’s memoir as well. Fully on a memoir kick and loving it.
Here’s to February—quick, dreamy, and wrapped in loveliness. See you in March.
I love sinking into the new year slowly. I am a lover of new things—new beginnings, new calendars, fresh planners, fresh perspectives, and this year, fresh snow! But living with winter has softened my usual fire (Aries sun, Leo moon, here!). I feel held in this season, enjoying it’s presence, while planning for what’s next.
Which brings me to what’s been on my mind this month—in my life, in my studio, in my thoughts…
This year, I’m starting a ‘word of the month’ ritual, something to anchor my thoughts and energy. And for January, clarity felt right.
Winter, in it’s essence, is a season of clarity. I love leaning into winter, and the gifts it brings. It’s easy to look at bare trees and assume they’re lifeless. But they’re not. They’re hibernating — slowing down, becoming quiet, conserving their energy until spring arrives. Beneath the surface, their roots are stretching deeper into the earth, seeking nourishment, steadying themselves. And once spring comes, they flourish again.
Winter teaches us patience in the depths of reflection. It reminds us to pause before we move, to find harmony between rest and planning. Without the leaves, we can see farther — beyond what summer’s fullness allows. Winter is clarity.
January has been a mix of endings and beginnings — wrapping up my last 2024 projects that bled into the new year, while embracing a softer, slower approach to new ones. I’ve officially kicked off my first 2025 projects, including the dreamiest branding work for an interior design studio, Atelier Gardey.
Some things I’m working on:
P.S. you can always find all my links here.
Over a chill weekend spent organizing closets (my ideal Saturday tbh), I finally listened to Wintering by Katherine May. It’s been on my TBR list forever, and after seeing multiple comfort creators rave about it, I had to dive in. It’s a such a sweet, reflective read — filled with gentle reminders about seasonal rituals and finding nourishment in slower seasons. Highly recommend if you’re romanticizing winter like I am.
I’ve also been binging Spiral Deeper by Gaby Azorsky, and if you’re looking for something soothing yet insightful, start with ‘Winter Nourishment – Living in Harmony with the Seasons.’
Oh, and because I can’t help myself, I made you a playlist. Winter by Studio Gail — find it here.
Here’s to January—slow, intentional, and full of clarity. See you next month. 🤍
There’s something about the year’s end that always feels like an invitation to slow down. And as we shift toward even slower seasons and winter in its fullness, the air feels heavy with emotion—in the best way. It’s a (good) overwhelm, full of both soft moments of reflection and exciting plans that inevitably fill the calendar.
Sharing these monthly moments with you is one of my favorite things, so here’s a peek into November—what’s been happening, what’s been inspiring, and all the little moments that have made this month sweet.
November has always had a way of making me feel deeply. It feels like the soft exhale at the end of a busy, beautiful chapter that was the entire year. I’ve been spending a lot of time journaling and letting myself dream about the next season. Putting words to the spaces I’ve outgrown and the ones I’m ready to step into in the new year. There’s something so grounding about sitting with questions: What feels aligned? Where am I ready to step in and stretch? How do I want this next season to feel?
In between all that reflection, life has been full in the best ways. Bowie (our doxie puppy for those who don’t know) continues to keep me on my toes with his sweetness and stubbornness. I’ve also been spending more time with family than usual—traveling up the East Coast, hosting in laws at our little townhouse by the sea, waking early to scatter ashes into the ocean at sunrise, and holding onto loved ones just a little tighter this year.
This month has been full of inquiry calls, launch strategies, and project kickoffs. I’m wrapping up a handful of dream projects, booking January and February start dates, and dreaming up big changes for 2025—think more resources, deeper 1:1 opportunities, and a few things I can’t wait to share.
But the true highlight of this month? The launch of my HoneyBook template shop!! This has been a labor of love for months, and seeing it live has been so exciting and so rewarding. So many sweet clients and new friends have sent texts, emails, and DMs raving about the new templates, and my heart is so full. So hey, if you’re looking to streamline your workflow for the new year (and save some time for the things you love most), be sure to check them out.
And if you haven’t already, make sure you’re subscribed to the studio newsletter to stay in the loop on all the newness.
Oh, Pinterest. My happy place. Lately, my boards have been overflowing with that new vision I’m dreaming up for myself, my studio, my home, my life—dreamy breakfast nooks, homemade recipes, content inspiration, design ideas, and (naturally) much more.
P.S. If you want to see all the things I share in these monthly files in one place, I’ve got you.
November has been a month of endings and beginnings—a season of slowing down. A season we could all lean into a bit farther, I think. An invitation to rest, to breathe, to reflect. I hope this month has brought you moments of joy, reflection, and connection.
Have the best Thanksgiving, friends. Let’s savor the season ahead.
If there’s one thing clear about weddings lately, it’s this: they’re shedding old traditions and taking on a unique edge — and I couldn’t be more pleased. It seems like the days of cookie-cutter ballrooms and rigid etiquette are becoming fewer and fewer. And in 2026, I truly believe couples will be saying yes to celebrations that are thoughtfully curated, deeply personal, and downright magical.
2025 and 2026 weddings? They’re about creating immersive experiences that actually matter. From dreamy destination fêtes to design elements brimming with personality, the trends are all pointing to one thing: less pressure, more joy, and a whole lot of heart.
Whether you’re planning your own big day, designing weddings, or simply indulging in Pinterest scrolls, here’s your guide to the trends shaping 2026—and how to turn them into unforgettable moments.
Say goodbye to the ballroom and hello to spaces that speak to the soul. For 2026, couples are gravitating toward venues that reflect their personalities—think art galleries, historic lofts, lush gardens, or industrial spaces with soul. These venues offer more than just a pretty backdrop; they tell a story, creating a vibe that feels intimate, authentic, and effortlessly cool.
In the same vein, for 2026, destination weddings are getting a glow-up. Forget the typical resort affair—2026 couples are booking private villas, boutique hotels, and other dreamy bucket-list destinations to create a vacation experience for their guests. Think: curated welcome parties, sunset cruises, and even cooking classes to immerse guests in the local culture.
These weddings are less about a strict itinerary and more about meaningful moments that blend love, travel, and community. And with travel becoming a bigger priority for couples and their guests, this trend isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
Pro Tip for Wedding Planners and Designers: Lean into the destination’s unique charm. A Tuscan wedding? Host a pasta-making class. Coastal affair? Plan a sunset sail. Thoughtful touches like these elevate the experience and leave guests enchanted.
In 2026, drapery is the unsung hero of wedding decor. Couples are layering soft fabrics everywhere—on ceilings, over tables, across doorways—to transform spaces into lush, romantic retreats. Velvet napkins? Check. Sheer curtains swaying in the breeze? Absolutely. This trend turns even the simplest venues into spaces that feel intentional and warm.
We’ve officially entered the era where wedding stationery is no longer just functional—it’s an art form. In 2026, couples are embracing paper goods as key elements in their wedding aesthetic. From custom-designed matchbooks to embossed maps and patterned swatches included in the invitation suite, stationery now serves as a first glimpse into the event’s vibe. And it doesn’t stop at invitations—menus, seating cards, and even guest book alternatives are becoming tactile, interactive experiences.
And let’s be honest—polished stationery has serious Instagram potential. Hello, flat-lay shots.
Tip for Planners and Wedding Creatives: Suggest paper goods that feel playful yet timeless, and offer guests small keepsakes they’ll want to hang onto—like mini artwork prints, polaroid snapshots, or even handwritten notes waiting at each seat. These little touches leave a big impression.
The role of the wedding planner is evolving. Couples don’t just want someone to coordinate vendors and run the timeline—they want storytellers. Enter the wedding designer, whose job is to bring every detail into a seamless, artful vision.
While the DIY wedding craze peaked in the 2010s (thanks, Pinterest), couples today are looking for more hands-on support. They’re craving designers who handle it all—concept development, sourcing vendors, and bringing every vision to life. It’s about crafting an experience that tells a story, not just organizing a day.
2024 and 2025 leaned into garden party vibes, but 2026 is taking themes to the next level. Think Bridgerton-inspired balls, chic Western weekends, or retro-glam celebrations with full-on ‘70s vibes.
One trend we love? Themed dress codes. Couples are including color palettes and vibe descriptions in their invites, encouraging guests to dress the part. Whether it’s wedding guest in all black for that cool chic moment or in summer colors, it’s fun, it’s inclusive, and it makes for killer photo ops. (And let’s face it—who doesn’t love a good fashion moment?)
Pro Tip for Designers: Help your clients get specific. Whether it’s guiding them toward a color scheme or suggesting theme-inspired details (like vintage parasols for a garden fête), these touches set the tone beautifully.
“Are wedding favors still a thing?” Consider them optional. In 2026, couples are swapping trinkets for meaningful experiences guests can cherish. Live sketch artists, interactive photo booths, or Polaroid cameras at the table all create moments guests will remember long after the last dance.
This shift reflects a deeper cultural trend—people want to take home memories, not things. Prioritizing connection over material items.
The trend toward docu-editorial photography isn’t going anywhere—and we couldn’t be happier. In 2026, it’s all about capturing the essence of the day through non-posed, candid moments that feel luxurious but unpolished. Think soft lighting, fleeting glances, and unfiltered emotion—images that look like they belong in a coffee table book rather than an Instagram feed. This oxymoron is exactly what luxury clients are seeking in 2026. It feels effortless and looks elevated.
For Photographers: Focus on capturing raw, unscripted moments with an artistic eye. These are the memories that couples will treasure most.
In 2026, florals are getting bolder, bigger, and even more creative. Instead of simple bouquets and centerpieces, couples are opting for hanging floral installations, wildflower meadows, and asymmetrical arches that feel fresh and modern. The trend for 2026? Flowers that feel bold, natural, and unforgettable.
Designer Tip: Encourage your clients to play with color and texture. Mixing soft pastels with rich, moody hues or pairing traditional roses with unexpected greenery can create show-stopping designs.
Why let the magic end after the last dance? In 2026, after-parties aren’t just an afterthought—they’re a full-fledged extension of the celebration. Couples are embracing bold themes, chic decor, and unexpected twists that keep the energy alive well into the night. From disco-themed dance floors to build-your-own espresso martini bars, couples are encouraging their guests to party well into the night.
But it doesn’t stop there. Full wedding weekends are becoming the norm, with day-after events like relaxed brunches or playful poolside parties. These follow-ups give couples and guests more time to connect, share stories, and soak in the joy together. Each event is curated with its own distinct vibe—casual yet thoughtful, with decor, signage, and themes that tie it all together.
In 2026 bridal fashion is all about self-expression. Brides are stepping away from traditional white gowns and embracing unconventional silhouettes. Expect modern twists on tradition, like delicate beading and pearl-embellished veils, alongside playful accessories that turn heads. Capes are making a comeback (think regal, flowy, and dramatic), as are statement veils like the stunning raindrop veil we saw on Sofia Richie Grainge.
Meanwhile, grooms are ditching the cookie-cutter black suit for something more elevated. Full tuxedos are back in a big way, with white dinner jackets adding a fresh and polished alternative. Accessories are stepping up, too, from velvet loafers to bold bow ties. And why not add a playful shoe swap for the reception?
Dining at weddings in 2026 isn’t just about what’s served—it’s about how it’s served. Couples are transforming food into an interactive experience, turning meals into a moment that brings guests together.
Imagine live pasta stations where chefs prepare fresh fettuccine on the spot, or oyster shucking bars where guests can learn how to savor their own briny delights.
For smaller weddings, intimate chef-curated tasting menus are on the rise, giving guests a multi-course experience they’ll never forget. And late-night snacks? A must. Mobile food trucks offering mini tacos or fresh waffles keep the party going strong.
Pro Tip for Planners: Help your clients think outside the box when it comes to food. What do they love to eat? How can that be transformed into an experience for their guests?
The weddings of 2026 are a love letter to individuality. They’re about embracing thoughtful design, meaningful experiences, and trends that feel personal and joyful. Whether it’s a multi-day destination event or a minimalist micro-wedding, the magic is in the details—and in the stories they tell.
So, here’s the real takeaway: Embrace the trends, but don’t get lost in them. Use them as inspiration to help your clients tell their unique love story—because that’s what weddings are all about.
Which trends are sparking your imagination for 2026? Let’s talk in the comments.
Life never really pauses, but fall has this way of asking us to slow down. It invites us to linger in small, quiet moments—hot drinks in hand, candles flickering, and sweaters pulled on just right. This October has been full of sweet new routines, unexpected inspirations, and changes that feel exciting in the best way.
Bowie Quan has entered the chat—the newest (and tiniest) member of the family! Our 4-month-old mini dapple dachshund has been living his best puppy life, which mainly involves burrowing under every rug he can find and digging up every inch of my backyard. He’s the kind of chaos that feels just right—messy and sweet and exactly what I didn’t know I needed. Doggie daycare is officially his new favorite place, but honestly? It’s a toss-up between that and stealing every moment of attention possible.
The cozy months are finally here, and I couldn’t be happier. In fact, the day this post goes live is Samhain, a day that recognizes the end of the harvest and the beginning of Winter. This time of year feels like the world takes a long, slow exhale. Sure, I love the warmth of summer—I mean, living by the beach definitely has its perks—but fall? Fall is slower, introspective, and everything I need right now. There’s something grounding about cooler mornings and cozy evenings, where life moves just a bit more gently.
Big things are brewing over here, and it’s the kind of good that feels like everything is falling into place:
A weekend getaway in ATL with Maggie, my biz bestie and creative soulmate. There’s just something magic about spending time with someone who just gets you—sipping coffee, creative conversations, and the kind of laughs that leave your heart full. Art museums, brand photoshoots, and homemade soup filled the hours, and I’m leaving with more ideas than I know what to do with (and the cutest friendship ring).
This season has also been reminding me to let go of the labels—to dress, decorate, and create from a place of joy instead of expectation. I’ve been working with Kerstin on curating my home, and it’s shown me how creativity flows when we follow what feels good rather than what fits a mold.
By now, we all know I’m a sucker for cozy reads, witchy audiobooks, and Pinterest rabbit holes. My current favorites are giving me all the fall vibes:
I’ve been pinning like crazy for my interior design project with Atelier Gardey (formerly Interiors by Kerstin). We’re working on a virtual styling project to turn this new home of mine from a blank beige canvas into a cozy, intentional space. Every weekend that we’re not traveling, I’m hunting down the perfect pieces to make it ours—slowly but surely, it’s coming together.
Boards I’m loving right now:
This October has been a swirl of new beginnings, cozy moments, and creativity—the kind of season where everything feels just a little more intentional. I’m soaking it all in, letting the slow pace linger a bit longer. If fall has brought some changes your way, too, I hope you’re finding pockets of joy in the smallest things—a warm drink, a good book, or time spent with people you love.
Until next time, friends. Let’s keep making magic, one cozy moment at a time.
August has been a whirlwind, a beautiful blur of new chapters and settling into the life I’ve been dreaming of. With my wedding in the rearview mirror (still swooning over every detail), I’m finally catching my breath. But if you’re anything like me, you know that life never truly slows down, even when we crave a pause. This month has been filled with so many things I’m loving, and I couldn’t resist sharing them with you.
I’ll be honest—coming down from the high of our wedding has given me a bit of whiplash. My “summer break” has been anything but restful, but it’s been the kind of busy that fills your heart up. We said our vows on June 21, honeymooned at the dreamy Atelier Playa Mujeres, and then I had less than a week to pack up my life in my beloved little apartment to move into our new home. Throw in traveling out west for another wedding in the Grand Tetons, and getting stuck at the ATL airport, and you’ve got a recipe for a hectic summer. But oh, the joy from our big day is still so present. Every time I see a post from my wedding photographer, I get giddy all over again. Life is starting to settle, and the sweetness of this new chapter is sinking in. It’s a feeling I’ll carry with me for a long time.
August has brought some exciting projects to the studio. I’m kicking off projects with a professional makeup artist and a wedding photographer, both of whom feel incredibly aligned with my studio’s vision and aesthetic. There’s something so special about collaborating with clients who feel like friends. Beyond the projects, I’m also challenging myself to embrace the mantra that my own clients express to me over and over again, “Less but better.” I’m shutting down the computer around 4 PM, and when possible, taking Fridays off. As someone who’s burnt herself out more than a few times before, my new intention is focused around finding balance and making space for the things that truly matter, both in life and in work.
This month, I’m feeling so inspired by two dear friends of mine: Kaitlin from Aurora Designed and Maggie from Nuance Collective. If romanticizing your life was an Olympic sport, these two would take home the gold. They each have this beautiful way of documenting the mundane with the magic of film, creating time for their artistry, and bravely sharing it online. They are constantly reminding me of the beauty in the everyday, and that’s something I’m embracing as we transition into fall.
The end of summer has always been a sweet time for me. I love the “back to school” energy—the return to routine, the order of knowing what’s on the horizon. For me, this end of summer is all about settling into this new life. New home, new husband, new chapter… new brand identity, new website, new strategies, new purpose. It’s a time of new beginnings, and I’m soaking in every moment.
While sometimes I’m embarrassed to admit it, I’m a simple gal at heart. I could scroll Pinterest for hours, and I have a soft spot for cozy, witchy audiobooks — sue me! Here’s what I’ve been loving lately:
I’ve also curated the perfect late summer, early fall playlist, named “Practical Magic Summer.” It’s full of moody summer vibes, inspired by this TikTok by one of my favorite creators that captures the essence of late summer. It’s been my go-to soundtrack as I transition into this new season.
This August, I’ve been all about making—a house a home and some deliciously fun summer recipes. Since moving into our townhouse last month, every weekend we’re not traveling has been spent turning it into a cozy haven. We’ve been weeding flower beds, hanging curtains, and scouring Facebook Marketplace for those perfect pieces to make it ours. The latest addition? A gorgeous new hutch for our dining room that I’m absolutely in love with.
And on the culinary side, I’ve been experimenting with some summer sips. My current obsession? Honey cinnamon iced lattes. They’ve been my go-to treat during those long, hot days of unpacking and settling in. It’s these little joys that make the process so much sweeter.
Currently swooning over formal typography, scribbly art, and paper textures. And yes, it’s all playing a part in my own rebrand for Studio Gail. I’ve been collaborating with the incredibly talented Maggie from Somos Studio, and let me tell you—this rebrand is a love letter to everything I adore about design.
The moodboard we’ve created together feels like a perfect reflection of where Studio Gail is headed. I can’t wait to share the final look with you soon, but for now, I’m soaking in the creative process and enjoying every little detail. And if you missed the announcement reel, check it out on Instagram!
August has been a month of new beginnings, sweet moments, and a whole lot of inspiration. As I settle into this new chapter, I’m feeling incredibly grateful for the journey and excited for what’s to come. If you’re also riding the wave of change, remember to find beauty in the little things and embrace every new moment.
I’ll be back soon with more updates, including a deeper dive into our wedding and more on the Studio Gail rebrand. Until then, I hope you’re finding your own moments of joy and inspiration as we head into the fall.
Let’s keep making magic together.
In my world, staying on top of 2025 wedding trends isn’t just part of the job—it’s a passion. Having just planned my own dream wedding (eek!), I was eating, breathing, and sleeping all things bridal for quite some time.
And although I’ve had some time to step away and reset (and soak in this post-wedding glow), guiding creative wedding businesses through brand elevations means it’s important to have a pulse on this ever-evolving landscape. Which means we’re back, taking a peek into what wedding trends are on the horizon for 2025.
So, whether you’re planning your dream wedding, hunting for some fresh inspiration, or just trying to keep your business on the cutting edge, this is for you.
Let’s get real for a moment.
As a designer, I’ll be the first to admit that trends aren’t my ultimate guide. I’m all about crafting timeless brands that go beyond what’s hot or not. Trends are cyclical; they come and go, telling us a lot about society and its tastes. They’re fascinating to watch, but they’re not rules we have to follow. My philosophy? Embrace a trend if it feels like a natural fit for your business and aligns with where you want to go.
That said, when you’re running a creative wedding business, staying in the loop means you’re always ready to bring something fresh and current to the table.
But let’s not forget—weddings are incredibly personal. The real magic happens when trends complement the unique love story of each couple. It’s all about creating an experience that feels authentic and meaningful to them.
So, without further ado, let’s dive in!
We all know I am a neutrals girlie through and through. But a shift is upon us. Despite my own personal color preferences, I think that weddings are going to be saying goodbye to neutrals and hello to bold, moody color schemes. While 2024 already saw a shift from all-white florals to pretty pastels, 2025 will be about making a statement with vibrant and rich hues. Think deep burgundies, emerald greens, and striking blues. Just like a pendulum swing, trends are coming full circle, bringing back the bold in a big way.
If you’re a wedding planner, encourage your clients to mix and match unexpected colors for a truly unique look. They’ll appreciate the inspiration and the chance to make their wedding unforgettable.
Weddings are becoming more personal and less traditional, and the trend of skipping bridal parties is here to stay. Couples are opting for a more intimate feel, focusing on their closest relationships without the formalities of traditional bridal parties.
This approach keeps things stress-free and centered on what truly matters—the love story at the heart of the celebration. For wedding photographers, this trend can mean more genuine, candid moments to capture of the couple themselves.
Big party vibes are out; calm, cozy vibes are in. We’ve already seen “Girls Gone Mild” bachelorettes, and now that aesthetic is translating to weddings. Expect to see brunch-style celebrations and intimate events that feel more like a close-knit gathering than a grand spectacle.
Encourage your clients to think about small, personal touches that make the day special for everyone involved. Cozy can be just as beautiful as grand (and cost-effective!), and these moments can be incredibly meaningful for both the couple and their guests.
Couples are taking extra time to make their weddings unique by introducing new traditions. Gone are the cookie-cutter vows and ceremonies; instead, couples are personalizing every aspect of their big day, making it truly special.
Encourage your clients to think outside the box. Personalized vows, unique ceremony elements, and creative weekend activities are all ways to make their wedding unforgettable. This trend allows couples to infuse their personalities into their celebrations in meaningful ways.
If you’re looking for something more unique than the same old blooms and candles, try incorporating fruits and vegetables. Citrus-filled bouquets and organic, earthy tones from vegetables are making their way to the wedding table. This trend brings an elegant yet whimsical feel to the decor.
Think vibrant green pears and grapes bringing a lush pop of color, or bright lemons introducing a cheerful yellow hue. These fresh elements are more than just beautiful—they play up the aesthetic in new, unexpected ways, adding depth and a natural charm to any setting.
For wedding stylists, this is a chance to explore new materials and create a unique, romantic atmosphere that feels both organic and enchanting.
Wedding content creators are becoming a staple, and this trend will only grow in 2025. Couples are investing in professionals to capture every moment in real-time for social media and beyond.
Consider partnering with content creators to offer your clients a comprehensive package that includes stunning, shareable content. This collaboration can elevate the wedding experience and provide lasting memories (not to mention, gorgeous content for your marketing efforts, as well).
Minimalistic looks are out, and avant-garde, wearable art is in. 2025 will see brides walking down the aisle in gowns that are as unique and breathtaking as they are. Think bold silhouettes, intricate details, and fashion-forward designs that are true showstoppers. We’ve seen this shift in interiors, as well. While the 2010’s were all about minimalism, the 2020’s have been a celebration of maximalism.
Encourage your clients to embrace the extraordinary. These gowns are not just dresses; they’re statements. For wedding photographers, these unique designs offer endless opportunities for stunning, editorial-style shots.
Destination weddings have long been on the rise, and so is the trend of full weekend celebrations. Think welcome parties, rehearsal dinners, the big day itself, after-parties, and a poolside morning-after brunch. In 2025, even local weddings are getting the full weekend treatment, making the celebration a memorable retreat for guests (which is exactly what I did!).
Help your clients plan an itinerary that keeps guests entertained and engaged from start to finish. A weekend of love and fun creates deeper connections and more memories for everyone involved.
At the end of the day, a wedding is meant to reflect the ones saying “I do” and starting a new chapter of their lives together. Beyond the trends and the design and the aesthetics, it’s simply a time of celebration. A time to invite in your closest friends and family – or whoever you want there – into this sacred part of your life. By experimenting with trends that feel aligned and exciting, your clients – or you! – are on the way to creating a day that is undeniably “you”.
